Classic English Style for 2011

Check out this delightful Moreton framed sofa we received last week from head office.  I can't wait to launch this sofa in a window display...

I have been looking for an excuse to use an on-trend orange and terracotta colour palette for some time, and this seems like the perfect opportunity to complement the lovely warm hue of the cherry wood. The scheme below includes orange paint from Farrow and Ball, Paisley wallpaper and Rossini velvet from the Mulberry collection. The best bit is that all these companies are English!

These are a few of my favourite things...

Today I was getting in the mood for Spring by doing a spot of cleaning in the fabric cupboard.  Here are some of my favourite samples from the last year:  Farrow & Ball, Mulberry, Romo, Osborne & Little, Colefax and a Sanderson velvet.

Interior Advisory, Long Ashton

These are 2 contrasting options I presented to a client for the living room of a beautiful 1940s house in Long Ashton.  They came to me looking for fabric and colour inspirations.  In the initial consultation we decided on 2 routes, one inspired by the front cover of Homes and Antiques Magazine and another very feminine option which would be very complimentary to the Parkay flooring.

Rainbows in Dubai

I just got back from a beautiful wedding in Dubai. We did alot of walking around shopping centres
whether it was the world famous Mall of the Emirates or the hum drum of the textile and gold souqs. There was an incredible amount of visual stimulation. Whilst walking around the Bur Juman shopping centre, I saw a stunning Hermes window display that celebrates colour: I'm absolutely loving 'rainbow' colour palettes at the moment!

This stall in the textile souq in Bastakiya (old Dubai) Textile souq sells beautifully embellished slippers that come in every colour of the rainbow.

Winning Christmas Window display

It's been a while, so I thought I would upload some pics from our competition winning window display Jenn and I designed and implemented for Wesley Barrell! A few things went wrong along the way but fortunately it did come together in the end!

''A cosy hunting lodge inspired Christmas window, featuring 3 seater Bourton sofa in Wesley Barrell fabric Upton Antique.
A Sanderson English hunting toile wallpaper hangs above the fireplace, with the stag head and vintage frames over laid on top. A rich and heavy checked Mulberry fabric length hangs behind the Bourton and we have used another Mulberry fabric on the floor as a rug, promoting our Mulberry collection and high star ratings.
We have included Anjou side table in Mahogany and 20 different accessories in the window from pictures and vases, to birds, cushions, throws, draft excluder and the footstool. ''
